Cowbridge & District Angling Club has fishing on the River Thaw for brown trout. The club also has a short stretch of a tributary, the Kenson river, at Penmark. In addition, the club has a stretch of about 2 miles on the river Ely near Pendoylan. The Thaw is a small narrow river that unlike most rivers in south Wales is more lowland in character and is spring fed. It holds wild brown trout and stocked brown trout. Sea trout also run the Thaw. The best stretch is around Cowbridge. The Ely (pictured) is a medium sized river that has wild brown trout, grayling and a few chub, perch, pike and dace. The Kenson river (Waycock) is very small, slow flowing and overgrown, this does hold brown trout, but is hard to fish. Hon Sec for Cowbridge Anglers Justin Isaac 07971540924.
