Aberdare and District Angling Club: River Cynon

Aberdare and District Angling Club has fishing on the River Cynon, a tributary of the Taff. This is around 3/4 mile just upstream of Asda in Aberdare. The stretch is available to fish on the ‘Fishing Passport‘ as of 2024 on a day ticket basis.

The river Cynon has wild brown trout. In recent years it has become a very good grayling river, especially in the lower stretches around Abercynon. It is unknown if grayling are found this far upstream, due to several weirs downriver, so brown trout will be the main quarry here.
