Garw Valley Angling Association - Fishing in Wales
River garw fishing wales

Garw Valley Angling Association

The River Garw, a tributary of the Ogmore, has some 5 miles of fishing for wild brown trout, stocked brown trout and sea trout.

The club also regularly stocks the river with good sized brown trout. Any method allowed.

Fishing permit allows you to fish from Pontycymmer square down to Ynysawdre and also the Abergarw area.

The club have lowered our junior permit prices to only £15 to encourage children to get into fishing. They run an annual fishing competition for junior members where they can win trophies and fishing supplies.

The river is maintained and stocked regularly throughout the season. Season starts March 3rd and runs through till the end of September.

You will need to purchase a rod license from NRW in addition to the permit to fish but for under 16s it’s free.

Prices are as follows:

Adult £75
Junior (up to 16)£15
Concession £55
Over 65 £50
Student £55

Please contact Mark 07971 442892

Please call between 5.30pm to 7.30pm to arrange time for you to collect permit.

Also you can email stephen.gvaa@gmail.com for any further information
