Llyn Egnant is approximately 50 acres and has rolling hills enclosing the lake, which lies in an upland valley. In its peat stained waters a good compromise can be found between average fish size and abundance, making it the best all-round lake in the Teifi pools complex.  Pound plus fish figure regularly in the catches, with a good average being about 3/4lb.

The fish are typically beautiful dark specimens, but there is a lighter colour morph, said to be introduced by the Monks in medieval times.
