Porth Ysgo - Fishing in Wales

Porth Ysgo

Porth Ysgo is a sandy beach with scattered rocks, fishing onto similar. It is covered at high tide.

Fish available include turbot, dabs, bass, rays, whiting, coalfish, dogfish.

On the coast road from Abersoch to Aberdaron, about halfway between Aberdaron and Y Rhiw, is a hamlet called “Penycaerau”. Here there is a staggered crossroads, at which turn down an unmarked lane towards the sea. Follow this lane and payable parking is available at the second farm (Ysgo). The beach is accessed via a footpath.
