Ogwen Valley Angling Association: Llyn Ffynnon Lloer - Fishing in Wales

Ogwen Valley Angling Association: Llyn Ffynnon Lloer

Ogwen Valley Angling Association has game fishing on Ffynnon Lloer in Gwynedd. Fishing is fly only for wild brown trout.

This is the highest lake in the Association waters, at 673m above sea level. It is also said to be the highest fishable lake in Wales for wild brown trout.

A small lake but it holds excellent natural wild brown trout up to 1lb. Because of its small size the only fishing method allowed on this lake is fly. Fly fishing using a bubble float is also strictly prohibited giving traditional fly anglers exclusive use of this water.

This is a fairly remote lake with a 45-60 minutes walk to get there so travel light and be prepared for sudden changes in the weather and always let someone know where you are planning to fish.
