Monmouth and District Angling Society: River Monnow

Monmouth and District Angling Society has mixed coarse and game fishing on the River Monnow.

The River Monnow is a lowland spate river and water levels can vary considerably with the seasons. Some sizeable Chub can often be seen in some of the pools. Roach are regularly caught and the occasional large Pike.

There is a healthy population of wild brown Trout and Grayling are commonly caught in the faster streamy waters.

The club has two stretches on the Lower Monnow, Pwllholm and Upper and Lower Vauxhall.
