Merthyr Tydfil Angling Association - Fishing in Wales
The Beacons from above Pontsticill reservoir

Merthyr Tydfil Angling Association

Perhaps one of the largest Welsh angling associations in terms of waters available, MTAA offers a vast amount of fishing in South Wales.

From excellent trout dry fly fishing on the rivers Taff and Usk, prime salmon fishing, specimen pike and coarse angling on large lakes or small intimate stillwaters, to small stream brook fishing and windswept upland reservoirs for rainbow and brown trout, the shear amount of fishable water with Merthyr AA offers incredible value for day and season permit anglers.

A club for coarse, carp and fly anglers, day tickets can be purchased online via the club website, from the Bait Shack tackle shop in Merthyr, or newsagents in Cefn Coed.

Day permits for the Taff are also available online through the Fishing Passport.
