Islwyn and District Anglers has fishing on Pen-y-Fan Pond, also known as Penyfan Pond, which is a 14 acre lake. Penyfan lake is a canal feeder reservoir and has been in existence for well over 100 years. The lake is regulatory stocked with quality rainbow trout that grow on quickly on the rich insect life in the lake. There is also a small head of natural and stocked brown trout present, some of which grow to specimen size. The lake is fly fishing only and tickets are available online on the club website, or in Greens tackle shop in Blackwood.
