Denbigh and Clwyd Angling Club has fishing on the River Clwyd at Llanerch is the beat nearest to the sea and is the which one salmon and sewin (sea trout) reach first once they start entering the river. There is also a growing population of wild brown trout.

The beat is best suited to spinning and bait fishing but fly fishing is possible at some locations.

Wading is generally safe but there are some deep holes, so care is needed.
