Denbigh and Clwyd Angling Club has fishing on the Glan y Wern beat of the River Clwyd, which is about one mile, mainly double bank.
The Afon Ystrad enters the Clwyd just below Pont Glan-y-Wern and the junction pool can be very productive when water conditions are favourable.

There is a good head of wild brown trout and it is a good stretch for sewin (sea trout) after a spate and after dark from June onwards.

Fishing with fly, spinner or worm is allowed.
